Process

Six steps, one team

From the first walk through the house to the last walk through the finished rooms, the same team manages every step, including the permit.

  1. 01

    Consultation

An estimator comes to the house and walks every opening with you. We look at the frames, the structure around them, the light and the view, and how you use each room.

You leave with a clear recommendation for each opening: system, material, glass and finish, and why.

  2. 02

    Measure

Once you go ahead, we return to measure every opening precisely and check for square, level and any hidden damage.

Large door systems and widened openings may also need a structural review at this stage.

  3. 03

    Order

Windows and doors are made to order by the manufacturer to those measurements. Your proposal confirms the lead time, and we track the order until delivery.

  4. 04

    Permit

We prepare the application and pull the building permit with your city, including energy-compliance paperwork, and, where an opening is widened, the engineering.

If your HOA needs to approve the work, we provide the product information they ask for.

  5. 05

    Install

Installation dates are set with you in advance. Floors and furniture are protected, old units are removed, and new ones are set, flashed, sealed and trimmed.

Each day ends with the house closed up and clean.

  6. 06

    Walkthrough

When the inspection is signed off, we walk every opening with you: operation, locks, screens, finishes and how to care for them. Manufacturer warranty documents are handed over.

Questions

Often asked

Anything else is best answered in person, at the house.

What happens at the consultation?

An estimator walks the house with you opening by opening, explains the options that suit each one, and follows up with a written proposal. There is no pressure to decide on the day.

How long does a project take?

Most of the time is manufacturing, which depends on the manufacturer and the system. Your proposal confirms the lead time, and installation dates are set with you before anything is ordered.

Do I need to be home during installation?

Someone should be there at the start and the end of each day. Many clients carry on with their day while we work.

Who pulls the permit?

We do. We prepare the application, pull the permit with your city and book the inspections.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Can Do Remodeling holds California Contractors State License Board license #1034690 (B, C-61/D-03) and is bonded and insured.

Is financing available?

Yes, for those who want it, through our lending partner. Ask your estimator.
